
The Heritage Center
The vision of this important endeavor
The Heritage Center celebrates and preserves the history of our diverse congregation and the broader American Jewish community.
The initiative began in 2021, with members donating to “Tikkun Torah” to restore one of our Torah scrolls. Soferet Linda Coppleson led the restoration and allowed families to witness the scribing of letters and repaired it for our use as a kosher Torah. On December 13, 2023, the 7th night of Hanukkah, the Torah was welcomed back to our sanctuary and rededicated under the chuppa.
Fundraising through Tikkun Torah supports temple operations and funds educational programs for all ages. These programs cover topics such as the Holocaust, Jewish veterans in U.S. military history, Jews in sports, Israeli geopolitics, and combating anti-Semitism.
The Heritage Center is currently recording personal heritage stories from our members, creating a rich, colorful mosaic of our TBS community. For more information, please contact The Heritage Center through the temple office.
